Frequently asked questions
How earning, paying, escrow and disputes actually work on LocalAmplify.
Before you start
Is LocalAmplify legitimate, or is it a scam?
Judge it by the mechanics rather than the promise. A buyer's payment is held in escrow by the platform and is not passed to the seller until the goods are delivered or collected — if they never arrive, the buyer opens a dispute and the money is not released. Amplifiers are never asked to pay anything to join or to unlock earnings. A business funds its commission pool upfront, before its campaign goes live, so a confirmed sale always has the money behind it already. LocalAmplify is a young Nigerian platform, not a household name, and those protections are the reason to trust a transaction on it rather than our word for it.
Is this a pyramid scheme or MLM?
No. There is no downline, no tiers of people beneath you, nothing to buy to join, and no payment for sign-ups, clicks or shares on their own. Your ongoing income comes from one thing: a fixed commission when someone buys a real product through your link. There are also two one-time invitation bonuses, and both are paid only after the person you invited has done real business. You can earn ₦5,000 once — once in total, not once per person — after ten amplifiers you invited have each earned at least ₦5,000 in real commission. You can earn ₦2,000 once for a business you invited that funds a campaign of at least ₦20,000 and keeps it running for at least seven days. If the people you invite never trade, inviting them earns you nothing, and no bonus is ever paid for a sign-up by itself.
How much can I actually earn?
There is no guaranteed income and we will not quote you a figure. Each campaign displays a fixed naira commission per sale, set by the business, and you earn it only when someone buys through your link and that order is released. Sharing a link with a hundred people who do not buy earns nothing. What you make depends on the commission on the campaigns you pick and how many of the people you reach actually want the thing.
Does it cost anything to join?
Nothing for amplifiers, at any point — no sign-up fee, no subscription, no deduction from your commission for access. Businesses pay only when they fund a campaign, and that funding is refunded in full if the campaign closes without any sales.
Do I need a large following or a website to be an amplifier?
No. Most sharing here happens in ordinary WhatsApp chats and groups, to people who already know you. That is the point: a recommendation to twenty people who trust you tends to convert better than a link posted to twenty thousand strangers.
Can I use LocalAmplify outside Nigeria?
Not yet. It is built for Nigeria specifically — prices are in naira, card payments run through Paystack, and amplifier withdrawals go to Nigerian bank accounts. You can share a link from anywhere, but getting paid needs a Nigerian account.
How is this different from ordinary affiliate marketing?
Two things. The commission is funded upfront by the business and held by the platform, so you are not relying on a merchant to report your sale honestly and pay you later. And the buyer's money sits in escrow until delivery, so the person you recommended is protected too — which matters when you are sharing with people you actually know.
What stops a business and a buyer from dealing privately so I lose my commission?
In-app chat blocks phone numbers, email addresses, bank details and messages that try to move the deal off the platform — the message is not delivered and the attempt is flagged for review. You can also report a business directly from your links page if you believe a sale was taken off-platform. It is not perfect, and no system that lets two people talk ever will be, but it is monitored rather than ignored.
Can I promote my business without paying anything upfront?
Not quite, and the distinction is worth getting right. You fund the commission pool before the campaign goes live, so the money behind every sale is set aside in advance. What you are not doing is buying advertising: nothing is charged for impressions, clicks or shares, you set the commission per sale yourself, and if the campaign closes without a single sale the pool and tier fee come back to you in full. You are pre-funding results, not renting attention.
How is this different from running Facebook or Instagram ads?
Ad platforms charge you for attention whether or not it becomes a sale. Here the cost is a fixed commission per completed sale, set by you and funded before you start. The trade-off is reach and control: an ad platform will put your offer in front of whoever you pay for, while this depends on amplifiers choosing your campaign and sharing it with people who already trust them. A campaign nobody picks up costs you nothing, but it also achieves nothing — the money simply comes back.
Earning as an amplifier
How do I earn?
Join as an Amplifier, pick a campaign, and share your unique link on WhatsApp or anywhere else. When someone buys through your link, your commission is credited automatically once the order is released — no chasing the business to confirm it.
When do I get paid?
You receive 80% of your commission as soon as the order is released, which is when the buyer confirms receipt or three days after delivery. The remaining 20% is held as a pending reserve until that sale's dispute window closes, then becomes available. Withdraw to your bank from your earnings page once you have at least ₦5,000 available.
How are commissions calculated?
Each campaign shows a fixed commission per sale, set by the business and funded upfront before the campaign goes live. That money is already in the pool when you start promoting, so a confirmed sale always has a commission behind it.
Buying safely
Is my payment safe as a buyer?
Yes. Payment is held in escrow, not passed straight to the seller. For delivery, funds release three days after payment unless you confirm receipt sooner or open a dispute. For pickup, they release the moment the seller scans your QR code at handover. If something goes wrong you can open a dispute in one tap and the release is paused.
What if my order never arrives?
Open a dispute from your order page or the link in your order email. That pauses the release of your payment while it is looked at. Pickup orders that are never collected are refunded to you automatically once the collection window set by the seller elapses.
Running a campaign as a business
Is registration free?
Yes — amplifiers join free and are never charged. Businesses pay only when they fund a campaign, and the amplifier pool and tier fee are refunded in full if the campaign closes with no sales.
How do businesses create campaigns?
Register as a business, set your offer, commission and sales target, choose whether you deliver, offer pickup or both, then fund it by card or from your LocalAmplify wallet. Your campaign goes live and amplifiers can start sharing it immediately.
Can I charge for delivery?
Yes. Set a delivery fee and an estimated timeframe on the campaign. The fee is added to the buyer's total for delivery orders only, never for pickup, and it is paid to you in full — it is not part of the amplifier's commission.
